Tournament Recap             Don Sifu's Recap             Player Bios             Prelims Lineup

Albuquerque is sending two squads out to Phoenix, Arizona to compete in the first annual Best of the West tournament! These 20 players will be the first to really represent the Land of Enchantment in a large, out-of-state tournament. Good luck to the following players:

NM #1
Captain Jeremy “Clawless” P.
Co-founder and co-owner of Southwest Beer Pong, Jeremy is captain of NM#1. Though he was far from the most skilled player in the early stages of SWBP, he has long since proven that he is a strong opponent, and one of ABQ's best. So long as he can keep his emotions in check, he should do well in taking his team as far as possible.

Kyle “Nutty” Sweetland
Kyle is co-founder and president of Southwest Beer Pong. Claimed by most at many times throughout his career as the best NM player, he’s struggled through a few speedbumps in his ability since losing his longtime teammate Gary Cadwell. Since picking up Ted Wallace he’s still a force to be reckoned with, and looks to redeem his out-of-state shortcomings in Arizona.

AJ “Munky” Weddington
One of the founders of SWBP, AJ has been around since the beginning. Though many would give him shit as not having the talent of his cofounders, he has proven time and again he has what it takes to make big shots. Arguably the best singles player in ABQ, AJ looks to make his mark at BoW.

Ted “dbag” “T-Bear” Wallace
Many would say that Ted has the prettiest hair in ABQ beer pong, but he also has probably the most natural shot in the 505. He gets into the heads of his opponents, and can always be counted on to make shot after shot in the end game. As long as he can stay out of his own head, and keep his hair out of his eyes, he can carry any partner to victory.

Gabriel “McSeterson” Montoya
There’s no player that can match the dedication that Gabe has for the game of beer pong. Even he claims there’s nothing he cares about more than pong. Arguably the most consistent top player in ABQ, Gabe’s only shortcomings have been in major tournaments. He aims to change that in Arizona.

Beth G.
There is no one who will argue the fact that Beth is the best female player in the state of New Mexico. Overlooked by her opponents as nothing to fear, she constantly proves that she can hold her own with the boys. As long as she can make that one cup, she won’t be stopped.

Jack “Biojax” Smothers
Jack came into the pong scene needing no learning curve, taking his opponents down in his first few tournaments. His natural shot makes him an extremely valuable teammate. Though recently retired from the sport, he’s making a comeback to support the 505.

Brent “Maverick” Harrison
Brent first appeared on the scene playing alongside Adam Huff in house games, absolutely killing the no-elbows game. After making the transition to WSOBP rules, he and his teammate struggled to catch up. Brent focused on getting better and built his game to the point where he can always be counted on to make his cups. He and Gabe have been on a winning streak since teaming up, and he hopes to continue that trend in Arizona.

John “Juan” Dubois
One of the founding members of SWBP, John was the one who first proposed the idea of what would become Southwest Beer Pong. Prior to that time, John was the most feared heads-up player in ABQ, with a shot that could be counted on regardless of his mental state.

Josh “20miler” Rogers
Josh was relatively new to the scene when SWBP first emerged, but he didn’t let that stop him from taking the first title in organized NM beer pong. He hopes to continue the trend by taking the first BoW title as well.

Team Drunk
Captain Adam Huff
Huff was the original beer pong organizer in the 505. His house-tournaments were the largest organized beer pong events in the area before SWBP came along. Since that time, he has struggled to adapt to the new rules, however that hasn’t stopped him from taking two wins as well as having more fun than anyone else in the room. He’s the obvious choice to lead Team Drunk.

Adam Holbrook
Team DnA first appeared at SWBP III, where they quickly made a name for themselves beating teams such as the Pwn Stars and going undefeated until running into the boys of 10 Inches and the Arizona stars of Nate’s Shirts. Since then Holbrook has proven himself in singles and doubles alike. Look for him to carry his teams in Arizona.

David “Double D” Dominguez
The other half of DnA, David brings it for ABQ when it comes to shit talk. Win or lose, he’s sure to get a rise out of his opponents with his constant barrage of disparaging comments. Friendly off the table, and fun as hell to play against, David makes a good addition to Team Drunk.

Sonny Amparan
One of the boys from 10 Inches Soft, Sonny usually took the back seat while his partner David Glaser took the glory. Recently, though, it seems as though Sonny’s been out to prove he’s the stronger player, making cups and staying consistent, never buckling under pressure. Now he’s taking his game to the larger stage to prove he’s one of the best.

Eric “E-Money” Searle
Eric, the other half of the Vagtastic Voyage, was part of the original NM crew to make the first trip to Vegas for the WSOBP IV. Though many claim he’s often carried by his partner/lover/soulmate Juan Dubois, Eric is constantly working on his shot and has recently shown he can make cups too, so long as he can stay focused on the table, and not the ladies on the sidelines.

Alicia “Lesh” Cunningham
Alicia is new to the SWBP scene, but has taken no time to show everyone she’s the strong player on team Scrumdiddlyumptious. Seems Huff’s just there to be pretty, while Alicia’s there to make cups. Look for her to take her opponents by surprise when she carries her team to victory.

Brandon “Faded” “GQ” Perry
Perry brings a touch of class to the pong table with his GQ style. His shot harkens back to the elbow days of pong, with a high arch and small margin for rimming cups. Though he has yet to make a major mark in the ABQ pong scene, he’s eager to make one in Phoenix.

Donovan “Don Sifu” Livingston
Donovan has worked the background of the pong scene in ABQ since SWBP’s beginning. Though he seems to hit walls in tournaments, his talent is unquestionable in the side games. His fun-loving attitude and charisma, along with his latent pong skills make him a solid part of Team Drunk.

Kevin "C Monty" Burns
Hailing out of the Adam Huff school of beer pong, Kevin made his mark in the early pong years of ABQ. He has yet to prove his abilities in an SWBP event, but is eager to show the west coast what he's made of.

Mike "Tonto" Thomas
A graduate of Clovis Beer Pong, Mike has had to face the tough players in New Mexico's largest pong community. The only Team Drunk player to prove himself outside of ABQ, Mike looks to use his experience to take his team as far as possible.
