April 29th @ Spectators - WSOBP VII Satellite Tournament
Another satellite and another 26 teams from throughout the Southwest! The usual suspects from ABQ, Clovis, and El Paso were joined by some of Arizona’s best, including Nate Cunningham himself. Nate had won three bids already this year, and was hoping to add a 4th by...
April 28th @ Spectators - Singles
Manny was the man of the hour in the singles tournament, mauling players through the losers bracket. He took down both Corey and Jeremy before finally stopping short at 3rd place, losing to Edan. Edan and PeeWee battled in an epic final table, both shooting nearly perfect in the first game. PeeWee eventually emerged victorious, securing his first singles title.
April 28th @ Spectators - Doubles
It was the last night to practice before the satty on Friday, and 13 teams turned out to get their pong on. Sink'em or Drink'em has been coming out of left field taking out some good teams, tonight making it all the way to the finals undefeated. Corey and Jeremy decided they had gone far enough, though, and made short work of the double-dip.
April 26th @ Coaches - Doubles Multi-Partner
Multi-partner tournaments are such a guantlet. With all of Duke City Dust pairing up, and Drunk doing the same, it was gonna be rough to win this one. In the end Jeremy and Corey were undefeated facing Gabe and Glaser. It was at this point that Jeremy checked out long enough for Gabe and Glaser to hit their stride, ending their second game with a 10-11 shooting spree.
April 21st @ Spectators - Singles
Round 1 of the singles tournament was a bit of forshadowing, with Jeremy and Glaser facing off. Though the game was close, Glaser proved victorious. Jeremy then went on a spree, and was determined to take it back. Battling through PeeWee, Ben, and Manny among others, he got to the finals. Of course, Glaser did what Glaser does and put a stop to the run.
April 21st @ Spectators - Doubles
Lesly Coss's first tournament could be called a succcess. She took third with Gabe, beating teams Cheech and Pong and In and Around the Cup before finally bowing out. Drop the Asian made a good showing once again, until they hit a wall in the finals facing Cheech and Pong. Manny nearly trolled in the second game, until he finally made a shot in rebuttal. Unfortunately it was too little too late.
April 19th @ Coaches - Doubles
Dos Sexies were hard at work proving their newfound talent, taking 4th to the favorites of No Chance, 10 Inches Soft, and Cheech and Pong. In the end No Chance pulled off something that has eluded them for quite some time, a double dip of Cheech and Pong.
April 14th @ Spectators - Singles
Once again singles have proven that you never really know who's gonna win any given matchup. Sean Allen came out of left field to run through the winners bracket. His first three matches were Corey, PeeWee, and Jeremy. He won them all and then was finally felled by Gabe. Gabe and PeeWee faced off in the finals, where PeeWee nearly pulled off the double-dip, but only nearly.
April 14th @ Spectators - Doubles
It was a pretty haphazzard night for No Chance, who were preparing for the DB10K the following weekend. With a relatively easy road to the winners bracket finals, they then defeated Cheech and Pong. But then something happened that's been occuring with more regularity for the former ABQ rulers, they got double-dipped in the finals by Edan and Corey.
April 12th @ Coaches - Singles
John Clements, who are you? He made his mark on Tuesday, taking out players like Beth and Corey before finally bowing out to Andy. Andy himself was making some moves, taking out Sonny before facing Gabe. In the end the likely finalists Gabe and Edan faced off, where Gabe turned the tables and double-dipped Edan for once.
April 7th @ Spectators - Singles
The singles tournament ended up being much more exciting (and more populated) than the doubles on Thursday. Shannon and Jack both showed their full potential, taking out top players throughout the night (Shannon knocked Jeremy out, and Jack defeated both PeeWee and Manny). In the end it was Gabe and Corey who faced off in the finals, during which Corey double-dipped Gabe.
April 7th @ Spectators - Doubles
What happens when PeeWee, Sonny, and Edan don't enter the field? No Chance gets its first win in three weeks! Even with diminished numbers on Thursday, there was some good competition, especially in the last-minute pairing of Jack and Glaser. They took it to the finals, where all four players stalled. Even with the poor shooting, No Chance ended up taking it down.
April 5th @ Coaches - Doubles
No Chance once again lost their footing at Coaches, and barely managed a 2-2 showing before bowing out. The new leading teams, 10 Inches Soft, Cheech and Pong, and David and Goliath, all managed to secure their top three spots once again. Cheech ended up facing 10 Inches in the finals, where David and Sonny took first undefeated.
